We would have no reason to take a vacation.
We wouldn’t be able to tell one person from the other. There would be no super models. We need Quasimodo in order to appreciate Rita Hayworth.
There would be no poverty, there would be no wealth. We would never truly appreciate the taste of good food unless we had tasted shit before. Ramen Noodles with hot sauce made with hot tap water. If you haven’t had the luxury, I suggest you have it for dinner. Swallow every luke-warm bite.
The more intensely you swing the spectrum, the more you open yourself up to see and feel. The more you can experience. This scares people because this is a bold move. It takes a strong heart and an intelligent mind to willingly cross the extreme negative in order to feel and understand the extreme positive.
There is a light and dark to everything in life. It’s important to hold a flag in each camp. Don’t stay in the gray.
To give a physical example… You are in a pitch black room. You open a door and there is full sun. You’re eyes take time to adjust, but it’s magnificent.
If the room is lit by a 60 watt bulb and you enter another room lit by a 60 watt bulb, fuck it, lets get weird; an 80 watt bulb. What’s the difference? There isn’t one or much of one. It’s dull.
There’s nothing wrong with this. The world needs dullards. Let me be frank, they make the world go round. They do the assembly work. The mundane shit that would drive us Extremes, mad.
While there are those that like the dull and keep everything moving, it is in the Extremes that we find new technology, art and science. New beginnings and answers to questions of the past.
Those of us that are open mentally, physically, sexually, creatively; we seek extremes in all of these. And this is what gives life that push. Can you feel it, see it in your mind when you read it? Without that push we would still be in the Stone Age. Pounding hammers on rocks and grunting and throwing spears at large cats. No desire to move forward. To feel more. To BE more.
If you are one of these Extremes, don’t feel bad; embrace it. Push yourself as far as you can go. Don’t stop. You never know what you may find. Negative or positive. Something phenomenal will come out of it. Push your heart, push your mind, push your body and push your soul.
Experience the glare and experience the black. Leave the middle ground to those satisfied with it. If you have that yearning, seize it and set a fucking fire under it. Push Yourself.
