First: Thank you to all of those that wrote me in regards to yesterday’s blog. Fucking rad. I appreciated everything you guys send me. The posts on the blog site were coming out in a weird order or not showing up, so if you don’t see them up there, that’s why, it’s not that I don’t want to share your feedback or thoughts. (The website seems to do better with hosting comments and giving the author credit.)
I’m glad I could help some light bulbs go off. I’ve been hearing the “dying alone” thing a lot lately and it can be a sensitive subject. But it doesn’t have to be so tragic. And less tragedy makes the immediate more pleasant.
There are so many times when there is a simple solution, but our complex minds just can’t see that simply into something.
So, taking all of that into consideration and going along with the “be yourself” theme of the week, why not go on about being able to speak up?
Sure, I’ve gone on about this before, but sometimes things have to be said more than once.
Having to hold your tongue, not express yourself; can be a total mother fucker. It’s a horrible feeling. Having to keep your mouth shut.
And how often does this happen? Tons! Especially in the workplace, with friends, family and relationships.
Either you can’t say something that pisses you off or hurts your feelings in fear of creating a bigger scene or you’re afraid of saying something nice and looking like a moron.
Life is a tricky bitch. It’s all about the navigating.
Holding shit in blows.
Granted you can’t tell your boss to suck it when he tells you to do something you don’t want to, but if a coworker says something shitty, ask them what their problem is. Hold people accountable. Good or bad.
And let’s say a girlfriend is being a real cunt. Saying catty shit for whatever her goddamn problem is. Call her on that shit. Don’t stew in it and go home and have a conversation with your cat about what a twat she is and how you’re going to tell that bitch; tell that Bitch!
And then get some new friends.
In relationships, it get’s trickier. You don’t want to spill the beans too soon and take the fun out of it and nobody really likes sonnets texted to them at 3am; but if you like somebody and you think they like you, tell them. If it’s not taken well, say fuck it.
New Yorkers seem to constantly have this problem. Everybody is so fucking busy here, nobody really has time for much and any semblance of a possible clinger sends them off the deep end or running for the hills.
Telling a dude or chick they’re rad and you want to see them again will likely get you black balled. And what fun is that? That’s not. That sucks and is a total waste of time.
So don’t waste your time. If you think somebody is rad and want to keep talking to them, let them know. If it isn’t reciprocated the way you want, move on. Because if you have to shut the fuck up in the beginning, get ready to always do it. And who the hell wants that?
Again. Don’t force it. Don’t sell out. Just wait it out and get what you want. So you can be who you are and be happy. So you don’t settle.
Good things come to those who wait. And while patience is an ugly bitch, she’s worth sitting next to in the waiting room that we call life.
The best shit takes time, doesn’t come easy and takes some level of perseverance.
So don’t give up, stay the course and never, never sacrifice yourself. Martyrdom is for Assholes.
