I found this on my phone last night and thought, ”right on.” Which is most likely the reason why I saved it in the first place.
Due to my not knowing where the fuck it came from; I most likely found it during my medicated stupor on the couch.
Always thinking. It could be worse. A) Finding inspirational (and somewhat sappy), pictures/quotes on your phone or B) having an 8 ball fall out of your cupboard when you have company…
I’ll take A. I’ve done B, and that was slightly embarrassing. I think I even used the age old line of, “Pfffft, that’s not mine. I have some crazy friends, (eye roll), who wants cake?”
(Yes, that was for you, Mom)
Anyway. I came across this little gem yesterday.
And fuck it, as much as I’d like to pick it apart and piss all over it for it’s good nature and say it’s a lie, it’s most definitely not.
Do that shit and do it in that order and see how your life improves. How your mother fucking state of mind improves.
Check this out:
1) Think of somebody you hate, someone who really honks you off and the feeling that goes with it. Imagine not feeling that in association to that person anymore.
2) Think of something you frequently fret over. Imagine feeling nothing but calm when the topic rolls through your mind. A simple, “I got this.”
3) Remove your mental and physical clutter. Look at your life and find a few ways to simplify it. Imagine how rad that would feel and how much easier shit would get.
4) Give more. Whether it be to charities you like, bums camped out on the street or just your time and patience. When can you recall giving something or helping someone and feeling like shit about it?
5) Expect less. Don’t not expect anything, but expect less from people, places and things. Let yourself be your guide and motivator, get your hands dirty and see how things fall into place as you move away from expecting other people to do shit for you.
One thing about me: I don’t open my fucking mouth or write something down without feeling I can 100% back it.
I’ve spent the last 15 months living this way and I’ve never been happier, had a cleaner head space or had shit just fall into place.
I quit hating people. I quit worrying about shit I had no control over. I simplified my life. I cut out the substances and the people that were cluttering my life. I gave more to charity and stopped ignoring people when they asked me to help. I expected less. That was the last one for me to learn. And I learned it when branding my company and publishing my book. Expect shit from myself, not to hire out. To not expect shit from anyone, money involved or not and to just do. Learn and do.
My advice? Print that above list out and stick it on your fridge or wherever you’ll see it every morning.
Go through that list in your head mantra style and don’t just say you’ll do it, live it.
Give it a try.
I have a funny feeling you won’t be in-boxing me a month from now me telling me what a silly bitch I am for suggesting it…
